MONUGEO Academic Exchange with BOKU University

As part of the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Staff Exchanges Project MONUGEO, our group was pleased to host Dr. Yadong Wang and Mr. Bowen Wang from the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering, BOKU University, Vienna, for an academic exchange at Seoul National University.

The visit included two seminar presentations. Dr. Yadong Wang delivered a talk entitled “Basic Constitutive Relationships of Wet Cohesive Granular Materials and Fine-Granular Suspensions,” addressing the mechanics, constitutive modeling, and numerical simulation of granular–fluid mixtures. Mr. Bowen Wang, a PhD student supervised by Prof. Wei Wu at BOKU University, presented “Visco-Hypoplastic Constitutive Modelling for Time-Dependent Behavior of Unsaturated Soils,” focusing on the extension of hypoplastic theory to viscous and time-dependent behavior in unsaturated soils.

The seminars were followed by technical discussions on granular suspensions, constitutive modeling, rate-dependent soil behavior, numerical implementation, and future collaborative research directions.
